A blog of interest...

The following blog by Kristin Fontichiaro can be found at the School Library Media Activities Monthly website http://blog.schoollibrarymedia.com/. I've cut and pasted the "About this Blog" page (http://blog.schoollibrarymedia.com/index.php/about/) by way of explanation as to why this blog is of interest to me. It focuses on the Web 2.0 and Library 2.0 skills that I am learning to use as part of this class. The blog not only addresses Library 2.0 skills, but also current issues that are affecting libraries and educators.
About this Blog
Welcome to the Library 2.0 blog, a project of School Library Media Activities Monthly. Join us in reflecting and sharing about how we can use Web 2.0 to deepen learning experiences for students.

Our blogger is Kristin Fontichiaro, a media specialist with the Birmingham (MI) Public Schools and author of Active Learning Through Drama, Podcasting, and
Puppetry (Libraries Unlimited, 2007) and the forthcoming Podcasting at School.

I came across Kristin's blog on the School Library Media Activities Monthly website while searching http://blogsearch.google.com/.

My first blog...

This blog has been created as a learning exercise to develop the competencies required to successfully complete the Information Storage and Retrieval course. I am taking the course through the Texas Woman's University Master of Library Science degree program. My goal is to earn my school librarian certificate and continue working in a school library.

I look forward to learning more about blogging as well as other online/electronic information sharing processes.
